Who are we?

We represent the Atlantic Region directors of Prison Fellowship Canada (PFC), an organization dedicated to mobilizing a response to the issue of crime and restoration. Grounded in Christian values, PFC’s vision is to foster a national community of reconciliation and restoration to offenders, ex-offenders, their families and victims.

What is Restorative Justice?

Restorative justice (RJ) is a philosophy and an approach that views crime and conflict as harm done to people and relationships. It is a non-adversarial, non-retributive approach to justice that emphasizes healing in victims, accountability of offenders, and the involvement of community members in creating healthier, safer communities. The goal is to reach meaningful, satisfying, and fair outcomes through inclusion, open communication, and truth.

What is Restorative Justice Day?

Correctional Service Canada has designated the week of November 19-27 as Restorative Justice Week, inviting individuals and communities across Canada to engage with the topic during that time and host their own activities. As such, PFC will be hosting a Restorative Justice Day on November 21: a day filled with speakers from various local communities, backgrounds, and professions who can speak to restorative justice or directly related issues.

What are we inviting you to do?

We are inviting you to participate in an incredible networking opportunity, to learn from those who are passionate about the subject and to share your perspectives should you feel inclined.
