Walk a mile in her moccasins

October 19, 2018 at 11 AM – 1 PM
The Red Shawl Campaign – Honouring our sisters. During the month of October, communities, university members, students and the faculty of the Mi’kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre at the University of New Brunswick join together to provide hope and healing for kinships and to reclaim justice for these Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Our hope is to create spaces for action and for healing. For people to join together to honour these women and to pay respect to their lives and their families.
Walk a mile in her moccasins – The Red Shawl Healing walk, is going to begin at the Fredericton City Hall at 11AM with ceremony, prayer and speeches. Join us as we walk together to the Lieutenant Governors House, where we will be closing our walk with refreshments and a music performance from local Indigenous musicians.
If you are a jingle dress dancer you are encouraged to come and help lead the walk.
