Cinema Politica Fredericton presents: “Pride Denied”: Homnationalism & The Future of Queer Politics

By Kami Chisholm

Activists and artists resist assimilation, challenge the corporatization of LGBT politics, and fight the ongoing oppression of queer and trans people.

“Pride Denied” (K Chisolm / Canada / 2016 / 70 min.) screens on Friday, Dec. 7th at 7:00pm at Conserver House, 180 Saint John St., Fredericton.

Set to the backdrop of World Pride in Toronto in June 2014, Pride Denied explores the concepts of pride and homonationalism through interviews with activists, community organizers, artists, and academics.

Film will be followed by an optional discussion with member of cohosting group: Fredericton Feminist Film Collective.

All are welcome. Screenings are free but donations are welcome. Conserver House location is wheelchair accessible but the washrooms are up the stairs.
