During the week of October 10-13, 2017, the Mi’kmaq-Wolastoqey Centre hosts The Red Shawl Campaign to bring awareness to the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women of Canada. This year the Atlantic Ballet Company has partnered with MWC to bring its ” Ghosts of Violence” to the stage again. By weaving dance with Indigenous culture, music and language, “Ghosts of Violence”, has embarked an emotional expression of the Indigenous women we have lost.

The Red Shawl Ballet “Ghosts of Violence”, honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in Canada, is one of several events of the Red Shawl Campaign, including the Red Shawl Exhibit at the Alumni Memorial Building on the UNB Fredericton Campus.
