People from the Sussex area demanded answers from Bruce Northrup, Minister of Natural Resources and Margaret-Ann Blaney, Minister of the Environment, to questions related to shale gas activity and fracking in their area at an open house in Sussex on January 29, 2011. About 400 people attended the open house.
The government of New Brunswick has set up a steering committee to examine regulations and royalties on shale gas.
