The New Brunswick Federation of Labour is saddened by the news that Jack Layton, the leader of the New Democratic Party of Canada, Canada’s official opposition, passed away after his brave fight with cancer at the age of 61.
“On behalf of the affiliated members of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour, I send my condolences to Jack Layton’s family,” says Michel Boudreau, President of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour. “Jack Layton brought optimism and hope back to Canadian politics. He will be missed. The labour movement, like all Canadians, grieves the loss of this charismatic leader.”
