Fredericton – On their fifth day on strike, members of Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) Local 60601, who work at the Fredericton International Airport, are bringing their message to the Hilltop Grill and Beverage Co., owned by Airport Board of Directors member John Klieel.

An information picket will start outside the restaurant today at 12pm  The Union has asked each member of the Board to send the airport’s team back to the table to get with a new mandate to negotiate fairly.  Today it is sharing this message with Hilltop’s clientele and its owner.

The local will also maintain its picket line at the airport.

Local 60601 members provide operational services, including runway clearing, buildings and equipment upkeep, fire, security and emergency services, as well as administrative and billing services.  The 24 workers went on strike at 5am Monday morning.

These employees are proud members of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees, a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, a national union with over 180,000 members successfully negotiating collective agreements in both the Private and Public Sectors.
