Within less than two months, the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity gathered approximately 3,500 signatures with a postcard campaign carrying the message: “Pay inequity makes a hole in MY budget,” in support of four private sector groups offering government-mandated services and waiting for pay equity.

“We have seen clear support across the province for pay equity payments for these four groups to begin with the 2012-2013 provincial budget,” explains Vallie Stearns, Chair of the Coalition.

“These four groups take care of the most vulnerable members of our families,” says Johanne Perron, Executive Director of the Coalition. “They are the employees of home support agencies, child care services, group homes and transition houses.”

The Coalition will be represented at the budget lock-up.
