What happened to Bill Miller’s maple sap camp on Bucket Hill? [video]

Bill Miller

Bill Miller of the northern New Brunswick community of Nictau says he cried for three days upon discovering that his family’s maple sap camp on Bucket Hill was gone. The maple sap camp, part of his family’s history for 80 years, had been clearcut. For three generations, the Miller family had an agreement with the company that owned the land. They were to vacate the property when time came to harvest the maple trees. But no one warned Bill that that time had arrived.

Watch Bill Miller tell his story in this video by Kedgwick filmmaker Charles Theriault.
