Stanley Market season to be longest yet

by Stanley Country Market
April 4, 2013
Reading Time: 1min read

The 2013 market season in Stanley is coming back earlier than ever to the small town.

Commencing on April 21 with a wide array of vendors, the Sunday event will occur bi-weekly this year in hopes of encouraging locals to buy from small business owners in their own community with more convenient and frequent dates and times.

Market organizers hope to hire a small staff for the 2014 season, and branch off into doing more economic-boosting projects in the future.

“People here are passionate about this town and want it to be here for a long time to come. Buying from local farmers, artists, and other sellers is one of the biggest and most important ways they can help the economy here and make the market a permanent part of what Stanley has to offer,” says Jessica MacKenzie, one of the market organizers.

In addition to an extended season, this year the market will also experience a new set of operating hours and will be open from 9:00am to 2:00pm, starting an hour later than at past events.

Vendor goods include cupcakes, organic eggs and vegetables, cheesecakes, baked goods, fresh stone fired pizza, BBQ, handmade furniture, primitive style decor, jewellery, tie dye, tutus, handmade soaps and more!

Musicians from the area are also encouraged to play live music and bring any self promoting materials or CDs they wish to sell or hand out at the market.

Interested participants or vendors should visit www.StanleyMarket.ca phone 447-2106 or email info@stanleymarket.ca
