Episode 1: Why the NB debrief?

NB debrief host Tobin Haley talks to the NB Media Co-op’s Susan O’Donnell, Tracy Glynn and Matthew Hayes about the creation of the NB Media Co-op and the importance of social justice media in a province home to a media landscape dominated by J.D. Irving Ltd.

 

Episode 2: The long struggle for abortion access in New Brunswick

NB debrief host Tobin Haley talks to Tracy Glynn with the NB Media Co-op and Reproductive Justice NB, Clinic 554’s Dr. Adrian Edgar and University of New Brunswick Law Professor Kerri Froc about the decades-long fight for abortion access in New Brunswick.

 

Episode 3: New Brunswick’s housing crisis

NB debrief host Tobin Haley talks to Matthew Hayes and Aditya Rao with the New Brunswick Coalition for Tenants Rights and Sarah Lunney with ACORN NB about the housing crisis and the need for rental reforms that protect tenants in New Brunswick.

 

Episode 4: The Peskotomuhkati and state recognition in Canada

NB debrief host Tobin Haley talks to Peskotomuhkati Chief Hugh Akagi about the Peskotomuhkati (Passamaquoddy) Nation, why his community is not a recognized First Nation in Canada and a Supreme Court decision that may finally lead to state recognition for his community.

 

Episode 5: Labour Struggles in New Brunswick

NB debrief guest host Tracy Glynn talks to Danny Legere, President of the New Brunswick Federation of Labour, and Sandy Harding, the Regional Director of CUPE Maritimes about challenges facing workers today in New Brunswick. She is also joined by the NB Media Co-op’s Susan O’Donnell on how stories affecting workers are being covered by the media in the province.

 

Episode 6: Poverty in New Brunswick

NB debrief host Tobin Haley talks to Tanya Hatt about her experiences living in poverty in New Brunswick and Abram Lutes with the Common for Social Justice on what policies need to change to eradicate poverty in New Brunswick.
