Migrant justice scholar and activist Mostafa Henaway will deliver the NB Media Co-op’s 14th annual keynote address— Wednesday, September 20 — at 7:00 p.m. by Zoom.

Mostafa Henaway will talk about his new book, Essential Work, Disposable Workers (Fernwood). The Madhu Verma Migrant Justice Centre and Fernwood Publishing are co-hosting the event.

“A book about the massive expansion of precarious work under neoliberalism and how migrant workers are challenging the conditions of their hyper-exploitation through struggles for worker rights and justice.”

Mostafa Henaway, a Canadian-born Egyptian, is a long-time community organizer at the Immigrant Workers Centre in Montreal, where he has been organizing for justice for immigrant/migrant workers for over two decades. He is also a researcher and PhD candidate at Concordia University.

English-French interpretation will be available.

The NB Media Co-op’s Annual General Meeting will occur prior to Mostafa Henaway’s talk at 6:00pm by Zoom. All are welcome but you must be a member to vote. Not a member yet? Sign up here.
