Keen to take your cutie on a pre-Valentine’s Day date? Your studies and projects are dragging you down?\n\nThe Queer Heritage Initiative of New Brunswick (QHINB) supported by the Pink Lobster Film Festival is holding a FREE Queer short film evening called (Still) Very Homo Show!\n\nThe event will feature films by RM Vaughan, Kelly M. Hill, Glendon McKinney and Queer Cellphilms NB and you can meet these fantastic New Brunswick filmmakers who will be attending the event!\n\nEvent will be held on February 11th at the Provincial Archives (23 Dineen Dr.), Fredericton at 7pm.\nSnacks will be provided. Making and Breaking Friends\nAbout the filmmakers:\nRM Vaughan: New Brunswick born and now Montreal based Canadian Queer writer, poet and filmmaker, UNB Writer in Residence Winter 2020.\nKelly M. Hill: Kelly Hill is an emerging artist based in Fredericton, NB. She uses textile & lens-based media with an interest in glamour, artificiality, and queer identity.\nGlendon McKinney: Glendon McKinney studied film at York University.but delved into many other disciplines : he practiced Decorative Painting for many years in Toronto, created a zine, ‘King of the Fairies’, as well as studying history, design, film and innumerable other topics. In 2000, he returned to his home province, New Brunswick, and his first love, film. Glendon’s film “They Only Come Out at Night” won the Best Short Drama award at the 2005 Silver Wave Film Festival. He was one of the filmmakers chosen for the 2009 Cultural Capitols project with his film “The Apostles of Beauty” depicting the impact on 1882 Fredericton of Oscar Wilde, and his subsequent and influential meeting with writer Charles G. D. Roberts.\nQueer Cellphilms NB: Is an art and activist space where short cellphilms (cellphone + filmmaking) are shared about queer, trans, and non-binary peoples’ experiences growing up, going to school, teaching, and living, and working in New Brunswick (NB), Canada. We want to share our experiences to speak back to the ways that queer, trans, and non-binary peoples’ histories and experiences have been marginalized, silenced, and erased from NB school and curricular spaces\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
