Jenn will discuss the neurology of trauma and how it impacts the brain in terms of triggers, nervous system responses, and the ability to construct a coherent narrative as it relates to witness credibility within the family or criminal law context.\nLeland Maerz is counselling therapist for the Bridges Institute, which offers support for those affected by Gender Based Violence and Intimate Partner Violence. Leland works with men, women, and queer folx who have harmed others or have been harmed by others and will talk about how gender, trauma and mental health affect peoples paths to justice; both victims and perpetrators of intimate partner violence may experience trauma and Leland will touch on the role therapy can play in achieving better outcomes in the justice system.\nPlease share with your circles, join us and be a part of Supporting the Health of Survivors of Family Violence in Family Law Proceedings. View the event posters.
