In 2020 and 2021, tenants saw massive increases and renovictions, and faced a system for disputing these increases that strongly favours landlords. In 2022, the government of New Brunswick recognized the crisis, capping rent increases at 3.8%. In that time, they’ve provided landlords with millions of dollars in tax breaks, with a promise to further cut those taxes. They’ve also decided **not to renew the rent cap,** leaving tenants in crisis at a time when cost of living is skyrocketing.\nWe will not stand by while this government leaves tenants behind. We were right about the crisis when it started, and we’re right about it now. Join us in the fight to:\n Renew the rent cap for 2023 \n End renovictions \n Extend the Residential Tenancy Act to protect NB Housing tenants\nWe want to ensure a safe action for all so please wear a mask.
