Webinar: The Human Cost of Glyphosate
You are invited to a webinar, “The Human Cost of Glyphosate” on January 26th at 7:00 pm via Zoom (registration is required from the link below) presented by the Support Team for Rod Cumberland. Rod is the wildlife biologist fired in 2019 for expressing concerns about glyphosate spraying in New Brunswick.
The webinar, moderated by CBC broadcaster (retired) Catherine Harrop features two expert speakers:
Dr. Stephanie Seneff is Sr. Research Scientist at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab in Cambridge, Mass. She has a BA and PhD from MIT in electrical engineering and computer science. Her interests include the role of toxic chemicals and micronutrient deficiencies in health and disease, with focus on the pervasive herbicide, glyphosate, and the mineral, sulfur. She has authored over three dozen peer-reviewed journal papers and is writing a book on glyphosate, titled “Toxic Legacy: How the Weedkiller Glyphosate Is Destroying Our Health and the Environment,” to be released by Chelsea Green publishers in June 2021.
Meg Sears, PhD is an Ottawa scientist and Chair of Prevent Cancer Now. Trained in (bio)chemical engineering and applied chemistry (uToronto and McGill), she moved to medical and environmental health research, regulatory science (including for pesticides), and legal reform. Dr. Sears’ work on environmental sensitivities led to a policy adopted by the Human Rights Commission under the Canadian Human Rights Act. As well as peer-reviewed publications, with Prevent Cancer Now Dr. Sears has co-authored dozens of governmental submissions, including on glyphosate.
Rod Cumberland will update participants on the latest in his court case against the Maritime College of Forest Technology.
