Migrant Justice is Food Justice with Data Brainanta
Hear from Data Brainata, president of the National Farmers Union – New Brunswick on why migrant justice is food justice. Data is a landed immigrant from Indonesia. Data and friends started the food garden cooperative, TOASA Cooperative, with a mission of working with the community in a peace and friendship spirit to nurture a decolonized relationship to the land. Data is engaged in Palestine solidarity efforts in Saint John. The 2023 recipient of the Brian Beaton Annual Prize for Journalism in Justice, Data writes for the NB Media Co-op on Indigenous land struggles and housing.
