Climate March in Moncton
Climate Emergency: Act Now!
Reports by climate scientists are growning increasingly dire. They are supported by the past summer,
which has been one of unprecedented wild fires, droughts and heat waves in western Canada and floods in Europe. Scientists have warned us about the climate emergency for over 30 years but governments have failed to act. Now the time remaining for effective action on this crisis is shrinking fast.
Governments must take strong action now!
Symbiose and Extinction Rebellion NB are collaborating to organize a march for action now on the
climate crisis. The march will occur in Moncton on November 5 starting at noon. Participants should
gather at the Avenir Centre at or before noon. We will then march down Main Street to Moncton City
Hall where a rally will occur. Masks should be worn and social distancing by 6 feet or more should be
practiced.
Governments will act on the climate emergency with the urgency and commitment required only if the
demand by the public is too strong to be ignored! We are asking all climate action and social justice
groups to endorse this march and join it on November 5.
Note that the march will be postponed to a later date if the COVID lockdown is still in effect on Nov. 5.
