Defending nature from major projects: Getting engaged
The federal government is proposing to accelerate approval of several Major Projects across Canada, including pipelines and mines. The new Building Canada Act authorizes the circumvention of key federal environmental laws such as the Impact Assessment Act and Species at Risk Act in order to expedite these projects.
Nature Canada is hosting a webinar on Thursday, May 14 from 1-2PM ET to inform and support nature organizations and advocates working to defend nature from the adverse impacts of these proposed projects.
This webinar will help prepare participants to engage in reviews of Major Projects to ensure that they are consistent with Canada’s commitments to halt nature loss, achieve net zero GHG emissions and respect Indigenous rights and sovereignty. You can find out more here.
Please register for the nature network webinar below. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
