Noise and Silence: Exploring Abortion Misinformation in New Brunswick
Winter 2025 Feminist Lunch Series to be given on Friday, Feb. 7 at 12:30pm in the Harriet Irving Library’s Innovation Hub, Room 316, on UNB Campus in Fredericton by Dr. Tobin LeBlanc-Haley.
The talk is titled: “Noise and Silence: Exploring Abortion Misinformation in New Brunswick”.
Dr. Tobin LeBlanc-Haley is an Assistant Professor of Sociology in the Department of Social Science in the Faculty of Arts at UNBSJ. She obtained her PhD from York University. Her research is community-engaged, blending critical policy ethnography, archival research, and arts-informed approaches to make visible the impacts of Canadian social policy for people living at the intersection of disability, socio-economic poverty, and housing precarity, and to chart new opportunities for positive change. Dr. Haley is committed to student-centered, accessible, and anti-racist/anti-oppressive pedagogy, and encourages students to bring their own experiences into the classroom.
All are welcome! Light refreshments served.
The Feminist Lunch Series is organized by the UNB Gender & Women’s Studies Program, the UNB/STU University Women’s Centre, UNB Libraries and UNB Alumnae association. For more information on the series, contact Sophie Lavoie (lavoie@unb.ca).
