Public forum: the American invasion of Venezuela and the implications for Canada

Date: Monday, January 12
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: BMH 101, St. Thomas University

The US invasion and coercion of Venezuela marks a new chapter in the Trump administration’s approach to the international system. The invasion exemplifies American foreign policy as defined by the recent National Security Strategy, which is that the entire Western hemisphere and all its resources belong to the United States. Any country that resists American domination will pay a price, up to and including invasion and dispossession.

The St. Thomas University Political Science Department is hosting a public forum to discuss the United States’ intervention in Venezuela and its broader implications for the international system and for Canada.

Speakers include:

  • Dr. Laura Levick (St. Thomas University)

  • Dr. Shaun Narine (St. Thomas University)

  • Dr. Carsten Schulz (University of Cambridge)

All are welcome to attend.
