Jesús Tecú Osorio is a child-survivor of, and eyewitness to, the 1982 massacre of 177 women and children in the village of Rio Negro. Jesus lost his parents and all but one sibling to the massacre.his parents and all but one sibling to the massacre.
Since 1993, he has worked unendingly to seek justice for the crimes and genocide of the past, including the uncovering of mass graves, and to heal and rebuild his torn region of Guatemala.
Jesus is an award-winning human rights activist, co-founder of the Rabinal Legal Clinic offering legal support to the Maya-Achi population, and founder of the New Hope Foundation.
