Beth Nixon, Penobsquis: These are the hills behind my house in Penobsquis. I walk up the hill behind my house on a regular basis, sometimes four or five times a day for exercise, mental health, and to get away from the kids (laughs). That’s Mount Pisgah, overlooking south in Penobsquis. This farm has been in my family since 1912. You can see our field, the roof of our barn on the right and the Kennebecasis Valley. It’s a picturesque view towards the Bay of Fundy. It gives you a sense of place and of what the community was. It’s still a farming community. It’s beautiful. People in New Brunswick don’t realize how beautiful it is here. I started taking pictures and going for walks because I was fighting for the environment and I didn’t think I was appreciating it enough.
