Shale gas sidewalk protests continue

shalegassidewalkoct6-2011Dozens of shale gas opponents braved high winds and the cold to protest shale gas development in Fredericton on Thursday, October 6th. The shale gas opponents marked their tenth Thursday in a row in front of the Centennial Building that houses government offices. They plan to return next Thursday from 11am to 1pm.

Shale gas opponents in Fredericton are asking Fredericton City Council to declare a resolution against shale gas. While Mayor Brad Woodside has said that he does not support shale gas development within city limits, the council and himself refuse to make it official, according to shale gas opponents.
