A demonstration against the Harper government’s changes to the Employment Insurance (EI) program took place on Saturday, January 26 in Moncton. The demonstration was held outside the Delta Beauséjour in Moncton where Conservative MP Bernard Valcourt was a guest speaker. The demonstrators sent a strong message to Valcourt to scrap the changes to EI.  Another demonstration took place in Inkerman, near Caraquet, where several hundred people rallied against the changes. There have been ongoing rallies against the changes across the province since the changes were announced. Regional committees have formed to oppose the changes.
