Two photo essays by Rizek Abdel Jawad, a photojournalist from Gaza City, document different sides of life in the shadow of Israel’s genocidal assault on the besieged Gaza Strip: displaced Palestinian children decorate the Holy Family Church in preparation for the holidays, while dire humanitarian conditions persist in makeshift camps.
Palestinians in Gaza City are forced to live in makeshift tents in displacement camps near their homes, which were destroyed by the Israeli military during its two-year assault.
Despite the cessation of hostilities between Hamas and Israel on Oct. 10, Palestinians continue to endure dire and catastrophic humanitarian conditions.
