Are you a youth in New Brunswick with a story to share?
We’re inviting racialized youth aged 17–29 — including, but not limited to, Indigenous, Black, Asian, immigrant and international students — to participate in Soundscapes of Resistance, a creative audio storytelling project taking place from January to March 2026.
This project supports you to tell your own story about racism, resistance, identity, and community — using sound, voice, and creativity.
What you’ll do:
• take part in 3 short workshops (can be completed online)
• learn basic audio recording + storytelling skills
• create a short 2–5 minute “soundpiece” (your story in sound)
• share your work at a public listening event and online exhibit
What you receive:
• $100 honorarium for your time
• mentorship from the NB Media Co-op
• new technical and storytelling skills
• a supportive space to create and be heard
No experience is needed, just curiosity and willingness to reflect and share.
Timeline:
• January: orientation and introductions
• February–early March: workshops and creating your soundpiece
• mid–late March: public listening event + online launch
If you’re interested, please apply here.
If you have questions, feel free to reach out.
This project is made possible with funding from the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.
