Arshy Mann: Canada is addicted to real estate [video]

Journalist Arshy Mann delivered the NB Media Co-op’s annual keynote address, “Canada is addicted to real estate” on Thursday, Sept. 23 by Zoom. The talk, co-hosted by the New Brunswick Coalition for Tenants Rights, is now available for viewing here.

Arshy Mann is a journalist and podcaster whose latest Canadaland Commons podcast is about Canada’s obsession with real estate. Mann covers Indigenous dispossession, systemic exclusion of racialized people and the concentration of wealth through real estate in the hands of some of Canada’s richest communities. His other work has included a deep dive into the impact of the pandemic in long term care homes, a critical analysis of policing in Canada and a fascinating series of episodes on Canada’s family dynasties, including the Irvings.
