On Monday evening, four candidates running for mayor of Miramichi took part in a live debate hosted by the NB Media Co-op.

Topics included housing and homelessness, policing, local infrastructure, immigration, and economic development. The event was livestreamed on the NB Media Co-op’s YouTube channel. Participants included Veronique Arsenault, Tiffany Gallivan, Peggy McLean, and Shawn Power.

The fifth candidate, Nancy Waye, had a conflicting event that evening. To ensure fair representation for all candidates, the NB Media Co-op conducted an interview with Waye on Thursday morning.

Debate hosted by Miramichi-based community organizer Niger Saravia and Local Journalism Initiative reporter David Gordon Koch. Technical production of the livestreamed debate by Jigmet Angmo. Interview with Nancy Waye hosted and produced by David Gordon Koch.
