Films in French in Acadia this winter

Starting Jan. 12, Les Rendez-vous de l’ONF en Acadie will screen Canadian films, animated shorts and Acadian premieres. The film screenings are free of charge and in high definition each week at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays in Caraquet, Wednesdays in Bouctouche and Kedgwick, and Thursdays in Edmundston and Moncton.

The films include:  ‘Visionnaires planétaires’ (Earth Keepers) by Sylvie Van Brabant (2009, 83 min); ‘L’affaire Coca-Cola’ (The Coca-Cola Case) by Germán Gutiérrez and Carmen Garcia (2009, 86 min); and Leonardo Forest’s ‘Pêcheurs de Pomcoup’ (Fishermen of Pubnico) (1956, 25 min).

The films will screen at the Galerie des artistes de Bouctouche (5 Irving Blvd.); the Caraquet Cultural Centre (220 Saint-Pierre Blvd. W.); the Mgr. W. J. Conway Public Library in Edmundston (33 Irene St.); the Kedgwick Public Library (116 Notre-Dame); and the amphitheatre of the Jacqueline-Bouchard building at the Université de Moncton.
