Government urged to release Anti-Bullying Summit findings

by BullyingCanada
October 12, 2010
Reading Time: 1min read

With the news of another bullying incident taking place against a nine year old Moncton girl, a New Brunswick Anti-Bullying Activist says changes are needed quickly. “Children can’t wait any longer for the results of the Anti-Bullying Summit, which occurred more than four months ago,” said Rob Frenette, Co-Founder of BullyingCanada.ca, Canada’s First Youth-Created Anti- Bullying Website in Canada.

“With the Conservative Government being sworn in today, I hope they keep their public promise of introducing Anti-Bullying measures very shortly,” said Frenette, referring to the promise Mr. David Alward made to introduce Anti-Bullying legislation following his failed anti-bullying amendments to the Education Act.
“To be made aware of a nine year old elementary school student has been bullied and placed on crutches, it’s time to renew the call for Anti-Bullying efforts to be stepped up” said Frenette.

The parent of this child is holding a one-person protest in Moncton this morning. “I commend this parent for taking a stand and doing what she can to protect her child,” said Frenette.
