Purple ribbons for pay equity

Each year, members of the December 6th Committee of the Moncton and District Labour Council distribute purple ribbons in the greater Moncton region to raise funds for a women’s organization. This year’s campaign was once again very successful with $1,077 raised for the New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity. The Coalition was chosen because we strongly believe that until all women have true economic and social equality, ending the violence we experience is not possible; we need the Coalition for Pay Equity to lobby our politicians to enact pay equity legislation.
