Journalist Samira Mohyeddin will deliver the NB Media Co-op’s 16th annual keynote address entitled, The Israel Exception, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 7:00 PM AT on Zoom.

The unprecedented killing of more than 200 journalists in Gaza and Western media’s skewed coverage of the genocide in Gaza has led to a crisis of journalism in both craft and credibility. However, it is a reckoning that most newsrooms refuse to have.

Samira Mohyeddin is the editor-in-chief and founder of On the Line Media, a digital journalism organization. A former CBC Radio host and producer, she is known for her bold reporting, her critiques of traditional media, and her perspective as a queer journalist from Iran. Samira Mohyeddin is behind the CBC podcast, Gay Girl Gone.
