NB Media Co-op’s 12th Annual General Meeting with Arshy Mann

by NB Media Co-op
September 22, 2021
Reading Time: 2min read
New Brunswick must stop dragging its feet on affordable housing

A rally for affordable housing and tenant rights occurred outside the city of Fredericton's public engagement session on developing the NBEX lands on October 1, 2020. Rally participants, including people with precarious housing, demanded that the space be used for affordable housing. Photo by Simon Ouellette.

Journalist Arshy Mann will deliver the NB Media Co-op’s annual keynote address, “Canada is addicted to real estate” on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 7:00pm by Zoom. This talk is co-hosted by the NB Coalition for Tenants Rights. Facebook event page.

Arshy Mann is a journalist and podcaster whose latest Canadaland Commons podcast is about Canada’s obsession with real estate. Mann covers Indigenous dispossession, systemic exclusion of racialized people and the concentration of wealth through real estate in the hands of some of Canada’s richest communities. His other work has included a deep dive into the impact of the pandemic in long term care homes, a critical analysis of policing in Canada and a fascinating series of episodes on Canada’s family dynasties, including the Irvings.

The NB Media Co-op’s Annual General Meeting will occur prior to Arshy Mann’s talk at 5:00pm by Zoom. All are welcome but you must be a member to vote. Not a member yet? Sign up here.
