Gordon Edwards on small modular nuclear reactors (SMNRs) [video]

Dr. Gordon Edwards, scientist, nuclear consultant and president of the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility visited New Brunswick last week. As part of the visit, he participated in a webinar presentation and online public discussion. The NB Media Co-op, one of the event organizers, recorded the event and produced a video we are publishing here. The video length is 1 hour 23 minutes, including a 30-minute Q&A session with the online participants.

Click here to watch the video.

Dr. Edwards’ presentation addresses the risks of developing small modular nuclear reactors, with a focus on the plans to do so in New Brunswick.

A transcript of the video is available here.

The NB Media Co-op also published an article based on Gordon Edward’s webinar: “The nuclear industry is desperate.”

The sponsors of Dr. Edwards’ visit to New Brunswick are the Council of Canadians Saint John, the Urban and Community Studies Institute at the University of New Brunswick Saint John, the Sisters of Charity Saint John, the RAVEN project at the University of New Brunswick Fredericton, the Council of Canadians Fredericton, the Sustainable Energy Group Carleton County and the NB Media Co-op.

Read all of the NB Media Co-op stories about the proposed nuclear reactors for New Brunswick, here.

The NB Media Co-op has also started an information page on nuclear energy in New Brunswick.
